Dire Dawa Ketema emerged victorious over Adama Ketema in round 9 of the BetKing Ethiopian Premier League as Hadiya Hossana and Hawassa Ketema settled for a barren draw in the last fixture of the week. The Easterners put three past Adama Ketema to end their successive winless streak.

It was a good day for head coach Fisseha Tumelsan and his charges as they achieved their biggest win of the season so far in the game played out at the Jimma University Stadium. Dire Dawa Ketema were wasteful but they still managed to win the encounter 3-0.

Muhdein Musa opened the scoring in the 15th minute after Namibian striker Junias Nandjebe failed to convert the easiest chances of the tie. Musa, who happens to be a Dire Dawa native, was on a beast mode as he extended the lead 9 minutes later.

Asechalew Girma struck the third goal minutes following the resumption of the second half. Adama Ketema looked very shaky at the back as well as rusty in front. The win took Dire Dawa Ketema to 8th with 10 points. Adama Ketema are in the drop zone with 4 points.

In the later kick off, Hadiya Hossana missed out on a chance to close the gap on leaders Fasil Kenema after playing out a goalless draw against the in form Hawassa Ketema. The duel was very physical as the game was interrupted due to foul calls.

Week 10 actions will resume starting from Friday as Fasil Kenema eyes to extend their lead at the top. Sebeta Ketema, Adama Ketema and Jimma Aba Jifar are in the relegation zone after 9 rounds.
