Previous President John Dramani Mahama has encouraged the Supreme Court to maintain his official political race request of and invalidate the Electoral Commission’s (EC) announcement that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, won the December 7,2020 official political race.
In an end address to the Supreme Court, attorneys for the applicant contended that the proof on record remembering the EC’s own assertion for December 9 obviously showed that no competitor got more than 50% of the substantial votes cast to be announced President-elect as endorsed by Article 63 (3) of the 1992 Constitution.
The Petitioner’s attorneys, in this way, asked the court to maintain the applicant’s case and request the EC to coordinate a run-off between previous President Mahama and President Akufo-Addo.
